An A-Hole
This is a polite rant.
I'm here to learn. I will never pretend to know everything about
dogs or raw feeding. No matter how many courses I take, books I read, or certificates I earn - I will only be an expert in my dogs.
So when
someone shares information that I find intriguing, I like to joint the discussion, ask questions, share what I know, and learn more.
When the OP
(original poster) replies to my question with one of the following, it's frustrating and I don't get it...
- Google it
- I'm not doing your homework for you, figure it out
- every time you post a comment, I lose respect for you
- you should already know this
- you're only asking questions to start trouble
Because of these responses, I no longer comment on other posts. So, I try to Google the topic and figure it out for myself.
The Problem with Googling It
While Google is
an fantastic tool for learning, one can become quickly overwhelmed when they're new to a concept due to the number of contradictory messages shared on the Internet.
When we tell someone to do their own homework without giving them guidance on where to start, we may as well give them the middle finger because it's a dismissive message.
Some people may get lucky and find the information they need. I suspect that most dog lovers get frustrated and discouraged, giving up altogether. I have on several topics.
