Keeping the Home Clean, Naturally
Someone recently asked me what I use to wash my dogs' toys. I love this question because my answer would
have been "regular laundry detergent" a month ago, but I'm slowing making changes.
Over the years, I've tried natural cleaning products and have been disappointed. They don't seem to do the job and, when you dig a little, you learn that the product isn't as natural as the brand claims.
I have three dogs and they shed. I sweep our floors daily and mop the floors at least twice weekly. Last year, I was tempted to buy a floor cleaner, but worried about what my dogs' would absorb through their paw pads. I now use essential oils - a product by Plant Therapy,a brand I trust.
I use essential oils to keep the house fresh, diffusing my favorite scents several days weekly.
And, with our growing collection of dinosaur dog toys, I'm using white vinegar as a detergent, because my dogs carry these around in their mouths. I gather them up to wash when they start
looking raggedy or smell (a few times a year).
I'm still using regular laundry detergent for my clothes. I'm a work in progress.
