, Do you remember September by Earth, Wind and Fire? It does sound that they are singing Borne, instead of nonsense "Ba de ya", right?
I am very excited about our
new Borneo trip this coming September 23. I am attending the Asian Bird Fair Sep 27-Sep 30 in Sarawak, so I thought I give the 7 Wonders Birding concept a try offering a short trip concentrating on the mere essentials of Borneo. Since NE Borneo, Sabah seems easier in this respect this is what I have put together.Â
So let's be frank. What is it that really pulls you in when it comes to Borneo? Birds? Or wild Orangutan and Proboscis Monkey?Â
Those monkeys are truly on top of my list.Â
But Borneo is so much more. Some of the best mammals we shall search for include Pygmy Elephant, Maroon Langu and Flying Lemur - Colago, plus three uncommon cats (Sunda Clouded Leopard, Marbled Cat and Sunda Leopard Cat), as well as Slow Loris and Tarsiger during night walks and drives.Â
As for birds, there is one endemic bird family represented by the Borneo Bristlehead, which we have a great chance of seeing. Additionally, there are four species of Pitta and no less 8 species of Hornbills, including the spectacular Rhinoceros Hornbill.Â
I have secured one of the best local guides Andrew Siani, who is also local guide for Wings.Â
You can join this fantastic tour even if you are short of time, as it is only 5 days sandwiched between two weekends. Just take 5 days off from work. Should you have more time, you can join the pre-trip to Mount Kinabalu Sep 19-22.Â
I am saving the best for last. There is a US$400 discount right now. It is valid only to Aug 17. I will take no further bookings after this date.Â
Please head to the
Borneo Tour on 7WondersBirding's Website.Â
Just reply to this email if you are interested.Â
Meanwhile, Listen to
Earth, Wind and Fire singing - "
Borneo, Birding in September"Â :-)
