Hi
Thinking about the bucket list, may not be your top priority right now, and I totally understand... there is a certain virus running amok on this planet.
Yet, many local birding companies around the world are struggling right now. Perhaps not desperate quite yet, but it all depends on how tours book for the later half of the year. So making plans starting 2-3 months from now and beyond is not a bad idea as it will support small local birdwatching outfitters who do a tremendous job conserving biodiversity through ecotourism. 7 Wonders Birding Tours work with local conservation minded ground agents.
Now, in social isolation, you could allocate some time to have a think about your bucket list priorities. When you are done, send me an email, what you come up with. It is likely that your priorities and our progression of adding new short and focused trips align over the next couple of years. All you have to do is to let us know by answering this email.
New Policies
We have changed our booking policies in response to the situation in order to make it easier for you to take a decission and book a tour.
- Deposit is 25% rather than 30%.
- The full value of the deposit can be used for another Kolibri Expeditions/7 Wonders Birding trip within 3 years should there still be travel restrictions when your trip is due.
- Full payment one month prior to departure, rather than two months.
New Programs.
Latest additions for later in the year (remember, extensions are possible):
- UGANDA. The almost impossible task of getting Africa's most saught bucket list items in 6 days - is possible! Shoebill, Gorilla and Chimpanzee. And of course lots of other birds and mammals. Take five days off from work to join us from anywhere in the world. Tour runs Aug 30-Sep 5.
The Gorilla permit of $700 is refundable, if for any reason the coronavirus pandemic continues through August. You can safely book the trip. Gorilla permits are very limited so it is vital to book as early as possible.
- Cambodia and Angkor Wat. Some very rare birds like Bengal Florkan, White-shouldered Ibis, Great Ibis and White-winged Duck are the main bird targets plus of coarse one of the runner ups of the New 7 Wonders - the hindi/bhudist temple of Angkor Wat. Nov 16-20.
- Rio de Janeiro and Iguazu. The five day tour is run as a pretrip to our Pantanal trip. Planned for July and September.
The two planned trips to Rome, Italy and to Andalucia in Spain in April and May are not happening this year, why they have been postponed to next year around the same time.
I am building the itineraries for Egypt and Petra - probably for December or February. (Which would you prefer?). I am also preparing the itinerary for New Zealand and Australia in 2 and 5 day segments making the full program 24 days, although you may make just a 5 day family clean-up in New Zealand or a 5 day iconic
Australian wildlife with Tasmania.
Also in the pipeline is a trip to Patagonia for Puma and unique bird families such as Snowy Sheathbill and Magellanic Plover.
That is all regarding the The Bucket List Birding tours from 7 Wonders Birding at this time. I would very much appreciate if you tell your friends about our novel concept. The our strategies and ideas are summarized in bullet points on our FAQ page.
