Save some money!
I have had this idea for a podcast for a long time, but I could not decide on what format and theme, but now I think I have come up with a concept that will be different enough to catch some interest.
I shall cover these three topics.
- Bucket list destinations
- Bucket list birds
- Spark birds of the world. The birds that inspire people to start birding in different parts of the world.
The episodes will also containing interviews with birders who have stories about the birds or the sites that are being dealt with.
First out shall be episodes on the New 7 Wonders and the birding potential at each site.
I hope to get three interviews done in the next couple of days to get something up very soon and to get started - so stay tuned.
Meanwhile, the logo for the podcast is almost completely ready. Can you name the species? Are they on your bucket list as well?
I would like to add one more species. Which one of the birds mentioned below do you think is the best bird to add?
✅ Resplendent Quetzal
✅ Marvelous Spatuletail
✅ Spoon-billed Sandpiper
✅ Andean Cock of the Rock
✅ Gurney's Pitta
✅ Wilson's BoP
✅ Southern Cassowary
You may send me a reply just answering this email, or even better if you could engage in a conversion on Facebook (my profile, the 7 Wonders Birding FB page or the Kolibri Expeditions FB Page), Twitter or Instagram to get more social media exposure. Comment and share on your favorite social media platform as well, please. Your participation is greatly appreciated.
17 year old birder Zafeer A. Shaikh from Pakistan has made a great job with the design.
Birding the Pyramids blog post.
I am slowly but surely producing a series of blogposts about birding the 7 Wonders. The idea is that they shall become booklet eventually and distributed to people who sign up for the newsletter.
I already did one about Machu Picchu, which also has been distributed as a pdf for new members to this list. Here is the second about Birding the Pyramids iof Egypt. Check it out.
Bucket List Birding talk tomorrow - on zoom.
I am very pleased to have been invited to do a talk for a South African Birdlife club in Durban. It is principally for their members, but you can also join in by clicking this link. Just put "guest" in the member box, and be prepared to shell out $3.70
- or 50 rand which is collected for bird conservation purposes.
Evergreen Bucket List Birding promo on Facebook.
Remember this video snippet we did?
We have been running it as a Facebook ad and it has gotten a quite fair number of views so we are thinking of running this add on a permanent basis. There is also some interesting copy that explains what Bucket List Birding with 7WB is in a nutshell.
Again, it would help us a lifetime if you took the time to visit the post to comment and also share it with your friends both on your wall as well as in Messenger or Whataspp.

Upcoming 7 Wonders Birding tours
It is very hard to plan for birding trips under the present conditions, but at least birders in the US and most places in Europe can travel again internationally. The big exceptions are of course birders in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, who remain much more limited in their choices. They can certainly not come to Peru under the
present circumstances.
Right now in Peru, COVID is getting under control. Numbers are high but are dropping for every week. Indeed, we have several regular birding groups in Peru the coming months.
As more and more people are getting vaccinated (I am getting my first shot on Thursday), options for birding will be increasing both in Peru and internationally in the near future.
I want to highlight a few trips that I shall personally guide, and which I think have a fair chance of running. Please check if any of these fit your schedule.
