This weekend's message is part of a Spring message series from pastor Mark: "The Ten Commandments" (click here for a flyer of this series). This message is based on the following Bible passage: Exodus 20:7.

 

The message is entitled: "Taking God Seriously." The message will focus on the third of the Ten Commandments: "Do not misuse the name of the Lord your God." What does a commandment like this mean for people today?   

 

The question about applying this command often focuses on the danger of using course, or crude, language. That's not really what this command is about -- it has to do with our reverence for God. What does it mean to live with reverence? Especially today, when it seems like nobody has reverence for anything?
