We all are working on different aspects of our health and as we know, food and life style is a part of it—but not all of it.
For some of us who are driven, just sitting and being is a lesson.
Some of us are driven, driven to work hard and to always be on the go. While that may be great in getting things done and checked off your list, it can take a toll on your adrenals. If this sounds like you, try to just hang for 15 minutes and chill and tune into your surroundings.
Quiet that little voice in your head that may tell you to get to that list. Say no to the push and the drive. And tell that judge inside you that you are taking a break and loving it.
This is simply a little reminder to check into the present moment.
With Spring hesitating in to come into full bloom here in New England, there are still some signs. Nettles are one of the indicators that Spring is coming and today at my local farmstand I spotted a bag of them. Yes! That means nettles have begun to sprout and are ready to harvest. May is on its way!
Earlier this month, the Trump administration decided to let the pork industry take over safety inspections at factory farms. Talk about letting the fox guard the hen house!
This will including testing for deadly pathogens like E. coli. The Washington Post recently reported the Trump administration is considering giving the same deal to the beef industry.
What the beef? That’s insane! We need the USDA to protect public health, not meat industry profits. It is so very hard not to get political, but our government should be protecting us from pathogens, not creating situations that put us in danger.
Find a local farmer and eat 100% grass-fed beef!
We hope you cook with joy and pleasure and reach out to a farmer if you can. Or just wonder where your food does come from. All of these little daily rituals can make a difference in our lives.
It’s not only about what we eat, but also about how we eat.
We are sending you blessings and quiet moments to chill and a kind reminder to eat well.
Also: Get some nettles! They’ll take over like mint, so find a spot in your yard to let them go wild and you will have them forever.
