The big news last month month was that I got back online to the social media platforms with the help of a
friend.
Whew! That was an interesting ride to be tossed out of the social circle and forced to re-think my way of being. (for those that missed
February's newsletter I was booted off FaceBook & Instagram due to a hacking).
Alas, I am back in the flow, but with a new way of seeing the bigger picture and a reminder of some life
lessons that really make a positive difference.
When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.
Asking friends for help in a time of need is a life skill well worth working on. You are not a superstar in everything you try. That is just not the way the world works, unfortunately.
Boy, do I know that!
Tech is not my sweet spot, and understanding the mind of a hacker is way outta my league. As you know since you are reading this, my sweet spot is Holistic Design and Feng Shui Design. Now that is where my superpowers are! But there are many, many other areas of my life that just are not.
One of the best things I have learned (& quite late in life admittedly!) is to ask for help when I am in need. My friends are my solid rock in hard times and this includes in my business world as well.
Helping others is the way we help ourselves. ~ Oprah Winfrey
No matter how talented, smart, witty, and clever you are, -you simply can’t know how to do everything. Nor were you designed to. Humans were designed to function in a community, working together.
We just need to debunk the myth that we are suppost to do it all on our own or it doesn't count. That you look weak, or like a failure.
In fact, the opposite is true.
Asking for help is a sign of trust, faith, courage.
Both in yourself for knowing your own limits, plus in the person you reach out to. Basically everyone likes to be a hero so most people will jump on the opportunity to help you. Those that don't, well, at least you know where you stand.
Give yourself the gift that keeps on giving.
