Spring is the season of new beginnings and fresh starts. Everyone is itching to get outside and have some sunshine on their faces. (or at least in the northen hemisphere!)
But the thing is that the transition of the seasons is often ignored. March is that month. The Spring Equinox is in a few days (March 20th) and it is the
day of total balance in the earth when the day and night are exactly the same. I adore the concept of a day of true balance.
Because we are often moving sooo fast, (and so excited about the extra sunshine!), that some poor choices are often made by mistake. Transitions are delicate and need to be treaded with care. Going from winter into springtime needs your consideration and mindfulness if you want to avoid
making some major mistakes in the decisions you make.
Adopt the pace of nature. Her secret is patience.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
SLOWING down is a lifestyle mantra that just makes sense. It is a tough
one to manage all the time though since our society is built around the sense of worthiness being linked to your productivity. However, if you can slow down enough to ponder the concept a bit more, I believe that you will discover that "being" is much more important than "having". That one truth is often overlooked because of our busy lifestyles not allowing us to think clearly.
Slow fashion, slow food, slow living and
slow design are just some of the global movements that are really taking root. A much misunderstood concept, it deepens your lifestyle rather than reduces it. Here is a bit more on the topic if you are interested in learning a bit more. What is Slow Living?
When you slow down you begin to notice the
amazing within the simple.
My Holistic Interior Designs is a slow-ish process. I am not saying we take more time that other designers do. Or that we protract the process for just being slower. What I mean is that between the fact that we help you define your vision at the start of the project which is often overlooked or rushed. Plus, we will be brutually honest with you about the things on the project with
regards to the realities of the schedule (and budget) so sometimes this can be viewed from the outside as a slower design process. After 20 years, this approach works for me and those that chose to work with me.
If you like this vibe, and you think my approach to design is just the thing for you and your home, reach out to me! I would be tickeld to help you change your space to change your
life.
Not sure? We can chat for a few, all on me, just to see if it is the right fit for you.
