Memorial Day is a day in which we honor those that have died to allow us to live ours freely and with peace. It is a holiday of remembering the sacrifice and honoring those that gave so much for the many.
Often, in the busy-ness of life, it is forgotten what this holiday is about. Families gather and cook BBQ, a day off work and time to kick-start the summer season. But in reality, it is a day to honor the dead.
Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory. ~ Dr. Seuss
As we move from Winter-a little death-, through Spring and now nearly Summer, it all feels a little surreal. Life is kind of like a weird sci-fi movie, or a dream. So much changed and became a memory in the blink of an eye.
Though, today life is starting to resume a steadier pace after months of an enforced slow-down, at least in my neck of the woods. Soon the COVID-19 crisis will be just a memory too.
What will you do with this memory?
Will you lock it away and just simply go back to your pre-crisis level of 'normal'?
Or will you perhaps re-evaluate your life and make some changes?
This NOW has never existed before.
What will you choose?
If not NOW, when?
It is my wish, that on this Memorial Day, that you chose to honor & gratitude as your theme for the day, that you will start to widen your view, to gain a bigger perspective and to start looking at the scope of your lives in a more HOLISTIC manner.
