Be Strong Enough!
"For whatever is born of God overcomes the world.
And this is the victory that has overcome the world,
our faith."
1 John 5: 4
A family in Peru bought a puppy from a vendor in Lima
and named him Run Run. He played with the family and
got along with other dogs—until he didn’t.
He began killing chickens wherever they were, until he ran
away. It turned out he was an Andean fox, and local wildlife
officials had to tranquilize him, before relocating him to a zoo.
The devil is like that. He tries to enter our lives in an innocent
way, but he’s a dangerous fox whose real passion is stealing,
killing, and destroying (John 10:10).
We must stay close enough to the Lord to recognize him.
We must be clad in the believer’s armor to withstand him.
And we must be strong enough in the faith to resist him.
God has given everything we need to be victorious against Satan.
Don’t let him into your mind, your home, or your habits. “Resist the
devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw
near to you” (James 4:7-8).
"The victory lies not with us, but with Christ,
who has taken it on himself to conquer for
us, and to conquer in us."
