Lean On Jesus!
May God himself,
the God of peace sanctify
you through and through."
1 Thessalonians 5: 23
A man in Colorado was fed
up with all of the cobwebs
under his mother’s house. He crawled under the house
with a blowtorch and proceeded to incinerate them.
However, he also set the house on fire.
The man and his mother were rescued, but
the house sustained $100,000 in damages.
There are a lot of cobwebs in corners and crevices of our
lives, imperfect areas and sin, attitudes unfit for believers,
habits that are defective, thoughts that need disinfecting.
Our own efforts at improvement are inadequate.
The only real way to combat temptation
is with the power of the Word and in the
strength of the Spirit.
Lean on Jesus and let
Him work
in and through you as you grow
in personal holiness and grace.
"God cuts short our old, self-willed nature
to make way for our new
nature in Christ,
which works in willing cooperation
with Him."
