Perfection Of Beauty!
"Out of Zion, the perfection of
beauty, God will shine forth."
Psalm 50: 2
A hundred years ago, Alabama wife Cordie Bridgewater wrote
a Gospel song about heaven. Hymn historians suggest the song
was prompted by the death of her daughter, Florence. Each of the
four stanzas ends with the words, “How beautiful heaven must be.”
Whenever we have the opportunity to travel and see some of the
world’s most beautiful locations, our refrain must be: “How beautiful
heaven must be.” When we admire a gorgeous sunrise or sunset,
we should whisper those words.
When we study petals of a rose or the autumn leaves,
we should remind ourselves that heaven will be more
stunning than anything and anywhere on earth.
Psalm 50 calls Zion, the heavenly Jerusalem, the perfection
of beauty, and from there, God will shine forth. From there,
Jesus will come for His children.
One of the reasons God created so much beauty in this world
was to encourage us to look forward to the next. Why not take
a moment now and say aloud: “How beautiful heaven must be!”
"We read of a place that’s called heaven,
it’s made for the pure and the free; these
truths in God’s Word He hath given, how
beautiful heaven must be."
