FEATURED INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY #1: The Opportunity: GO PA Fund II, Ben Franklin Technology Partners’ 2nd Fund, Invests in the Growth of BFTP's Portfolio Companies StatewideDetails: Bouyed by the strength of its first fund, GO Philly Fund I, Ben Franklin Technology Partners (the region’s most active seed and early stage investor) targets $50M (hard cap of $100M) for its GO PA Fund II. With $35M already raised, the team seeks limited partners to invest in the growth of some of the strongest companies from the statewide Ben Franklin network portfolio. Growing up companies born in PA is a perfect complement to the Governor's ambitious economic development strategy. Investors to-date include Ben Franklin itself, the Commonwealth, a
regional pension fund, Fulton and WSFS Banks, foundations, family offices, and individuals. Learn more at www.gopafund.com or contact Margaret Berger Bradley [email protected]. For further information, view this opportunity in
OptImpact or contact Margaret Berger Bradley, VP of Strategic
Initiatives.
FEATURED INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY #2: The Opportunity: RightAir is raising a $4M Seed+ Round to Bring to Market the First-in-class Wearable Breath Support Device to COPD PatientsDetails: ~16M (6.4%) Americans suffer from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) causing debilitating shortness of breath when performing basic activities. In the US, COPD is the 4th leading cause of death and is more likely to afflict individuals of lower levels of education or social-economic status, seniors, current and former smokers, and people with a history of asthma. Patients with this condition have no treatment options to increase their tolerance for
activities and are effectively disabled. RightAir is developing AIR-ADTM, the only non-invasive portable breath support device (think electric bike for the lungs that resembles a concealable “Iron Man” vest)
specifically designed for COPD patients. AIR-ADTM can sync with the user and off-load the work of breathing to help them recapture the ability to perform activities they enjoyed prior to living with COPD. The addressable market is large with a conservative TAM of $1.84B coupled with attractive existing reimbursement. AIR-ADTM is actively recruiting for its clinical trial. Early data is expected by early summer and a 510K submission in the fall. Co-investors already include Asahi Kasei Ventures,
BioAdvance and Ben Franklin Technology Partners. For further information, view this opportunity in OptImpact or contact Pitou Devgon, MD.

FEATURED READING The First
Mover Advantage — An Investment Approach for Maximizing Impact Details: “Water, water everywhere, and not a drop to drink.” This popular phrase often embodies the sentiment of diverse emerging impact fund managers who hear countless times, “We like your strategy and your team, but
we don’t invest in first-time funds” or “Come back to us when you are on your fourth fund.” Amidst a vast sea of capital, these fund managers are often shut out of accessing the funds needed to achieve their impact goals. This is usually due to a lack of risk appetite for the perceived risk of investing with emerging managers. Read ImpactPHL Perspectives, Volume 74. |
