Now let me share what happened to Trixie and why you need to be your own doctor in a time of crises. Plus what books to have ready now.
Recently Trixie, our adorable Sheltie, was limping badly after she got up. Her play time was not enjoyable as we saw her walk away from the ball and lay around more often. For a young pup this was unusual.
I felt all down her body and she did not wince as if there was a break. She could walk fine and even run. It was getting up from the floor that caused pain. Hip?
One friend mentioned a chiropractor. That made sense. Yet, no one could see us for 8 weeks. Hmmp!
Well, that means I need to learn dog anatomy and dog remedies.
With time and slower pace plus me walking my hands down her spine 3 x a day she recovered and is back in full running mode.
We could have paid $1,000 for a vet visit plus x-rays to be told it is a sprain: rest, ice and wait.
The most common reaction to a problem is run to the doctor without reviewing other options. We're trained to do this. It is expected.
Today we are seeing longer wait times even up to months.
With that being said and I don't see the problem getting solved to our level of expectancy I am sharing what books I use currently for our health.
Our goal is to learn prior to an injury or sickness and then have resources on hand in case of injury or sickness.
Remember - most medications were made to mimic natural options only with a patent attached to charge money.
Now - I am not putting down doctors, I have favorite friends who are doctors and others in the medical field. And medications are sometimes necessary and I do not ever suggest stopping.
Yet - wait times are longer and sickness is escalating.
So here are the books I have on my shelf for the perfect go-to:
