Are You Prepared?
Ok, I must say, North Carolina has some trails! This image here was the best. After I started the wood boardwalk it went out over the river and I felt like I was in the Smokies or Branson. Totally beautiful.
What I learned on the ride can help you as well. I stopped a day and half early yet still covered over 200 miles. It was more about the journey than the destination. And the journey was worth it.
Many times people want to know, how many pounds can they lose on the Daniel Fast. This is similar to my bike ride. The Daniel Fast is more about the journey of hearing from God than it is losing weight.
It is about the planning and preparing. It is about the mindset. Then the weight loss happens.
So many of you have been asking about the bike ride: what I use, how I do it and was it worth it.
I will answer the last question first. We came home Sunday afternoon instead of Monday evening. I felt like that was a good place and time to end the ride.
On Monday I was sore. The previous days I was sore but it went away as I got into the ride.🚲
Yet, Monday I was sore. Then Tuesday came and I was already missing the saddle! I am ready to ride again, and again, and again. It was worth being outside with no concerns. Just time praying, worshipping and openness.
Just like the bike ride, to be healthy we must prepare. It isn't natural in today's world to be healthy with so many teachings with contradictory messages. We must plan and prepare to be healthy.
On my bike ride I planned these items to prepare for an enjoyable ride:
1. Phone holder - l love talking on the phone while I ride. So I attach my phone with this holder to my
front handlebars. When I am not talking to someone special I play audio books from the library through Libby app.
2. Headband - this is my favorite headband I wear under my helmet or even when I am not riding. It keeps my ears warm
from November through March.
3. My Yellow Jacket - I take this on all rides in case of rain or chilly temps. I love the colors so people see me as they text and drive right next to me. The pocket on the back butt is at the perfect place to reach back for personal items. When I
was riding in the rain I moved my phone to this back pocket for dry keeping. 💧
This jacket is just my favorite to use at all times.
4. Bike Tool - Yes, If you followed me on Facebook you saw I experienced my first flat tire ever! I was peddling so hard and getting no where. My husband was so kind to bring me the tire on his bike till we got to
the hotel and then he even let me change it myself! No, he is not unloving - he knows I ride most often by myself and I needed to know how to change the tire. Next time, though, I will let him😊!
