Anyone Anxious? Are you ready for the world to OPEN?
This has been a unique situation and it seems the doors might be soon opening.
Yet I know I have heard from so many of you that anxiety is still in the air. It is like the Christmas lights are still hanging up in February and you can't decide to take them down.
Our office has had the highest traffic volume these last 6 weeks then our entire history. Emails, text, Messenger, Facebook private chats - etc.
People are anxious - and they are grateful - they are seeking to know more about eating healthy and they are more concerned about anxiety issues.
I wanted to take this moment to address both! Yes, they are related and here is hope that this can be mastered.
Remember what we allow to grow - becomes larger!

It is time to settle some issues that have surfaced during this crises and let God truly have control.
Here are 5 Steps to Lessen Anxiety!
Anxiousness – anxiety starts in the gut and in the mind. Both areas need to be addressed to conquer anxiety.
We have thoughts – they become beliefs – beliefs influences our behavior and then the result happens.
Let’s take weight loss – you think – it is too hard to lose weight. Therefore you believe it.
Your behavior is – eat what you want – do what you want.
Result – you continue to gain weight.
In the Covid situation – you are anxious about the virus.
Thought – will I get the virus – will I die.
Belief – the virus is deadly – I am anxious
Behavior – live in fear – fear of family, fear of friends, fear of church friends.
Result – difficulty sleeping, unsure to order food from the store, trouble digesting foods, stomach upset, for women menstrual cycles may be altered,
Anxiousness – anxiety is a gut – mind connection problem.
Actually, what you are eating can feed the fear or help you see through it.
Food nourishes or starves the neurons necessary for your mind to correctly process the information you are gathering in regard to this virus or anything that is disturbing you.
As you know if you are following me on FB, now podcast or on YT – I am the queen of fiber.
Healthy fiber feeds the good bacteria in your gut. This sends signals to your mind to bring a calmness, clarity and better adaptability.
Stress resilience is the blessing of good fiber and protein in the diet.
Sugars – and processed foods will contribute to more anxiety and anxiousness.
5 steps to lessen anxiety during Covid
- Check your thoughts – do they line up with God’s Word. God is your provider – He is your comforter – He loves you with an everlasting love, He knows your going out and your coming in. He is offering you to choose blessing or curse.
Any thought contrary to these truths is a lie!
If you think: He is not taking care of me, I am afraid, I don’t have my income, I am lonely,etc.
Write your thoughts down- ALL of them. No critiquing them. Just download all thoughts. Then see which ones are truth according to God’s Word. Which thoughts do you want to keep. Which thoughts are you done with? The thoughts you don’t want to think anymore and believe – scratch through them and say no more. - Change your thoughts to words of agreement in God’s Word – turn scripture into a personal praise.
Right now during this crisis – speak out loud – Jeremiah 31:3 – I have loved you with an everlasting love. I love Annette with an Everlasting love – that means His love will carry me through. I do not need to be anxious.
- Breathe through your thoughts– each time a negative thought comes in your mind – choose to swat it away like a mosquito – or take a moment to breathe in deep 3 times. Let your shoulders rise – let your diaphragm stretch. Breaths so deep you feel it! Then as you release the air slowly speak God’s words – I have loved Annette with an everlasting

- Feed your good thoughts – follow my grocery discoveries – on fb or on YT – they will stimulate your taste buds for some delicious foods – foods that will build a healthy microbiome. A healthy microbiome feeds the neurons to tell your brain – hey – we got this – don’t fret – today is going to be an AMEN day!
- Starve your bad thoughts –sugars and processed foods lead to creating havoc in the brain and the inability to think clearly. Sugars escalate symptoms of anxiety! Sugars starve the microbiome which feeds your brain health. So physically starve your bad thoughts by not feeding them sugars –
spiritually starve your bad thoughts by writing them down – then throwing that paper away or burn it up – you are not welcome here anymore.
Remember – just as we are physical – we are spiritual
Just as we are spiritual, we are physical
Our thoughts allowed to linger become our beliefs.
Our beliefs determine our behavior. Our behavior is based 100% on our beliefs.
Our Behavior determines our outcome – our results.
What do you want to be the outcome of this situation? Do you want to look back and say – I was so scared I stayed in bed and ate ice cream everyday.
I gained the COVID 19 pounds and my face broke out with acne.
My marriage fell apart – my kids drove me crazy
OR do you want to say – I learned how to deal with anxiety.
I learned how to go to God’s Word for comfort.
I learned how to eat healthy during extreme circumstances and I know I can continue to do this the rest of my life.
I lost weight and loved it!
I learned God has a plan and purpose during this crises.
