Recently I was asked about deodorants and do they matter. Since I have been teaching on this subject of healthy living for so long, I tend to think everyone already knows the importance of products to use.
Yet - I was reminded many of you are new to this idea of making sure everything we put in our body and on our body is the best healthful choice.
So today let's dive into deodorants.
It is breast cancer awareness month. Did you know men get breast cancer? In 2017, 500 deaths in men were from breast cancer or the treatment, plus 2300 new cases.
So this is not only a woman's issue.
Cancer can grow for over 20 years before it is diagnosed.
Don't be surprised with a diagnosis - get your blood work done NOW!
Blood Test - Get your blood work done with cancer specific blood test. See my list of Blood Work on this page here. Print it and take to your doctor to tell him/her this is what you want. Be adamant.
Although, you do not need a doctor to get blood work done. Just use the link above and order all tests yourself. Simple!
If you want help reviewing the results - here is an appointment link to set up time with me.
Now Deodorants - Do They Matter?
Yes - deodorants matter! Not just to keep friends around but the ingredients matter. Sixty percent of what is put on the skin gets absorbed. So, although the CancerCenter.com will argue that oral contraceptives are a higher cause of breast cancer(yes you read that right!) others will argue that deodorants are a major concern for breast cancer.
My take is this: any chemical that is not healthful can cause harm.
God created an amazing multi layered detox system to handle the normal and sometimes extraordinary contaminants we come in contact with. Yet, to knowingly put harmful chemical ingredients on my skin or the skin of my young grandkids would be a shame.
So - Yes, every chemical or natural substance put on the skin has the likelihood to be absorbed.
This means - deodorants do matter.
Many natural products are very over priced so I tried the totally natural route.
I tried fresh lemons🍋, charcoal (messy), baking soda (totally messy👎) and other options - only to say to myself "What a mess!"😂
So on days that a deodorant is needed I definitely choose wisely.
This product I have tried the charcoal and the Blue Tansy - both are perfect.
Yet, my favorite is the unscented.
Only wear deodorants on days that matter. Try going without 70% of the time. God designed your body to sweat - that is a perfect detox.
God designed your skin to get rid of internal and external toxins.
The more we let our body detox the less we succumb to health challenges.
So - when you hike - no deodorant!
When you workout - no deodorant! And if everyone you are hiking - biking and working out with does the same - no one will know who smells worse!!!!
Good friends let friends sweat!🚲
That is our new mantra.
I am not saying to go on a date with your best friend without deodorant - that would be a bad idea.
