Let me share how to get over the cold/flu as quick as possible!
Have you ever missed an important day by being unexpectantly sick?
Well that almost happened to me this week! We watched the triplets last weekend and they were dealing with colds but I was not concerned since I have a very strong immune system - or so I thought! Although a virus can be picked up anywhere, so they might not have been the reason I came down sick.
Thursday morning I woke up with fever, chills, cough, and sneezing. Not an experience I have had to encounter for several years.
So, do I follow my own advice? Of course!
After our Inner Circle coaching call Thursday afternoon- which I was so glad to not miss because the testimonies - and Shout Outs - were worth attending. Weight Loss! Learning Satisfied! Eating Under Control! I so love how God is at work in the lives of these people. They are seeing small changes make such an impact on how they view themselves and their outlook on how God works.!!!
Such a great time I am so glad I did not cancel the call.
Yet, then Thursday night I was supposed to do a YouTube live and that I did cancel. I could not make it through an hour without sneezing and the fever was creating chills.
So, here is my remedy to end the cold/flu as quick as possible:
- Zinc - I took 5 tablets 15 mg each daily
- Vitamin C - 1000 mg tablets 3 daily
- Alfalfa tablets - 10 tablets 4 times per day.
- Echinacea - 6 tablets twice a day
- Food: broth, hot water and lemon all day long.
I tried essential oils but they really did not help.
Rest - as soon as my Inner Circle call was finished, I crawled into bed and cuddled up with Trixie and a couple blankets and rested 24 hours. It actually felt good to step away from a very enjoyable ministry, even for one day.
Next I - made a plan. I did not want to let this happen again so I needed to make some changes.
My New Plans
- Truly Enjoy the Sabbath Completely - no negotiating.
- Bike Ride - Get on the road more. I am heading to Florida in February to ride for 10 days the east coast of Florida from Jacksonville to the Keys. So that means I need to get more in shape. AND when I ride, my mind is the most clear and focused on all God is doing. It is my freedom time. I need more worship time and I get it on my bike.
- Never miss a day of supplementing. Once we came home from Los Cabos and passed the Covid test for reentry I lessened up on the Zinc and Vitamin C.
Gratefully the cold that felt like the flu was thwarted by aggressive supplements and rest.
I still have a little sniffles and my voice is almost back completely.
And best news of all I did not miss our anniversary!
