I love writing to you on these Saturdays. It feels like a chance to personally connect that doesn't happen on YouTube.
A week ago I was in Nashville, Tennessee enjoying the National Religious Broadcasters conference. It was a blessing to learn how far The Biblical Nutritionist ministry has come to reach the people God has called us to. And yet, it was also humbling to learn the need around the globe for Christ.
I brought a message home to our team - for us to make sure we are serving our biblical nutrition family well and meeting your needs.
Then as God allows, our family will grow. Yet, you are first! I knew as soon as someone shared this with me, that God was speaking directly to me.
I tend to get caught up in how many people can we share the Gospel with and God was saying care for your family well, first.
Food opens the door,
His Word is the banquet and
God's love is the recipe.
Now - 3 Non-negotiable Tips to Lose 10 Pounds
This is going to be our coaching theme in the Inner Circle in May, so I thought I would give you a preview.
If I had to narrow successful weight loss to 3 tips, it is difficult. There are 6 elements to the Hunger Satisfied Journal and they are all essential.
Yet, there are truly 3 that will tip the scale to losing weight. These are non-negotiable and they work.
They work because the brain works for rewards. This was taught in our Inner Circle class this past Thursday in detail. (All classes are recorded and added to our huge vault of teaching.)
The brain is looking to find ways for you to achieve rewards. Rewards can be beneficial to us or they can be detrimental. Both are rewards to the brain. It depends on our focus.
Back to the 3 Tips.
Tip #1 and I know this will be no surprise. 24 Hour Plan
Yes, you knew it if you have been in the 40 Day transformation course or the Inner Circle. This is paramount for success. It is your own accountability to God and you.
When you complete the 24 hour plan, you 'make up your mind' like Daniel to not defile your body with too much food, or too many lab experiments.
This works because a written plan prior to the day helps your brain know how to give you reward.
Yet, it is still in competition with your emotions. So we focus our emotions to sharing how excited we are to fulfill the 24 hour plan.
Here are the steps for a great brain reward:
- Write out the 24 hour plan - one day only
- Follow it the next day
- Do the David (Happy) dance
- Do it a second day!
- Follow it again
- Your brain is being rewired to send signals that will make this more simple each day you follow it!
The sooner you do this for 1 day - the sooner you will be to losing 10 pounds.
Do it for 3 days in a row and the scale is going down.
Do it for 7 days in a row and you are seeing new numbers.
Make a commitment to write out the 24 hour plan daily for 7 days. Remember only write one day at a time. This is not a weekly menu planner.
Tip 2 - Weigh Yourself Daily
I know many of you are stopping here. You don't believe it. You hate the scale, You don't own a scale.
Here is what we need to understand.
The scale is just a hunk of plastic and metal that measures our body. It does not laugh, cry or make fun.
Although mine kept crying ERROR recently for several days until I realized it was out of batteries.
For years I did the scale dance: stand on one foot, brush my teeth first, clean my face first, wear as little clothing as possible, etc.
You name it I did it to make the needle go down. Instead, make peace with the scale and peace with your body. The old me, and possibly the old you, is Not You Anymore!
So, let's commit to weighing daily and learn to acknowledge that the scale is not the enemy.
Keep in mind. Weighing at the same time everyday is best. Weigh in the morning first thing before any food or drinks.
A high carb, salt, or sweets the evening before will cause fluctuations on the scale. Yet, salt and carb intake are not pounds that will stick. They are water gain and will leave you quickly. Unless you intend to eat a bag of pretzels every night.
A daily morning weigh-in helps us see what foods are bringing us closer to our goal and what eating patterns are not allowing weight loss.
The scale is invaluable.
Make a commitment to weigh yourself daily for the next 7 days.
Tip 3 Credits
Credits are outlined in the Hunger Satisfied Journal and taught extensively in the Inner Circle.
We have quick wins and rewards when we learn to recognize our success. What we focus on - spend our time thinking about - is what our brain will help us continue.
So if we talk continually about our failures, we will keep failing.
If we talk continually about our successes - we will keep succeeding.
Focus on the what you did well.
If you were 80% on plan for the day - that is fantastic. Don't focus on the one bite you messed up on. Focus on all you did correctly.
What you focus on is what will keep happening.
Make a commitment to write your credits every evening for the day. Do this for 7 days.
I promise these three tips followed for 7 days will bring you closer to the 10 pound weight loss.

Yet, just following these three tips may be all you need for weight loss. These three tips also work for less pain, and better sleeping.
Keep in mind that God loves you, The enemy plants seeds of doubt and we have the ability to pluck those weeds and never let them take root in our thoughts or our emotions. Focusing on God's love for you will help your brain nurture the emotions of love and acceptance.
