Hi ,
Why are you here?
What attracted you to biblical nutrition?
Here is what brought me to this place and if this describes you even a little, then read all of this email and take the food test.
I was miserable with answers that put me on a cycle. I knew
God's Word is true yet; I struggled with living it out daily.
My prayers were superficial.
My life was lackluster.
My health looked
normal.
Yet, I wanted more.
I wanted to experience that word - abundant. It must exist, since it is written as a promise. A declaration.
How, who,
where?
Let's start with the food quiz:
Psalm 19:10 says scripture is sweeter than honey.
My relationship looked good, like honey on the shelf, but it was bitter inside.
There are three basic types of Christians and this lets us into how we eat and, therefore, what type
of health we enjoy.
- Nasty medicine - Yech! the Bible is bitter and only good for what really hurts. Don't take it (read and apply) every day. I never missed a day of school since my parents used a nasty cod liver oil as their go to for every remedy. That is nasty medicine.
- Shredded Wheat - the Bible is good but very dry. Tastes like a bale of hay.
This was me in the past, I would read it as we are supposed to do, yet, it left me unsatisfied. This lead to going to other resources for answers.
- Strawberries and cream - now this is the good stuff! This is where you can't get enough of the Bible. This is where you look intently for answers and actually enjoy applying them.
How we study the Bible will also
determine how much you trust God with your health.
Health is not just eat this and don't eat that. It is what you believe.
The word believe is in
scripture 79 times. Each time it is a verb, not a noun. It is an action we take ourselves.
In the Inner Circle coaching group, we are always checking our beliefs. It is
very helpful to have a coach identify what beliefs are holding you back. That Ah-Ha moment is fascinating and freeing.
Beliefs are formed by what we take in and accept as truth for us. They may not actually be true, but it is believed as truth.
Then beliefs lead to and are fed by emotions, actions, feelings, and eventually behavior.
Behaviors bring results. Results can be blessings or curses.
Are you stuck in your health? Are you challenged with pain, food issues, or other? Do you binge?
We can't just believe these problems away, but we can believe there are answers that will set us toward healing.
Now go back to what type of food are you? If you believe the Bible is nasty, then seeking
the Lord while He may be found is not an answer for you.
If you are a shredded wheat person, then I suggest diving in and feasting on new verses, new stories, new discoveries in Scripture. The more we feast on the Word, the more it becomes strawberries and cream.
There
have been days when I would just open the word and say - Lord I need some honey today. Show me You.
With health, we say the same:
Beliefs - believe the
Word is true. Believe God wants you to have breakthroughs.
The nasty medicine person will say, - this is who I am and I can't change. God made me to be 300 pounds. I tried, and it does not work.
See the problem. Nasty medicine comes from nasty beliefs.
These thoughts lead to actions, emotions, and feelings that keep you stuck.
Here outlines God's plan for you:
Beliefs -----> Behaviors ------> Blessings
The shredded wheat person is tasting God's Word and desiring health and now can
go in more and see the breakthroughs.
The strawberries and cream - you are seeing the breakthroughs as you study and apply.
Each situation
we see today brings us an opportunity to live our out strawberries and cream faith. God is at work. God desires to bring healing. God made foods for medicine. (ok, that is not in the Word but He did give us the GOOD). In Exodus 15:26 He is the Lord who heals.
Now it's your turn.
Make a decision. Are you going to keep believing what is holding you back? Or are you ready to step into the You God created you to be?
Are you ready to enjoy the strawberries and cream? Then grab a spoon and enjoy the season.
Breakthroughs happen to the strawberries and cream. Those are people who are seeing God for who he really is. Our Jehovah
Rapha.
The
Inner Circle is where together we can discover what thoughts - beliefs are keeping you stuck. Together is easier than alone.
Hint - Inner Circle is opening soon! Wait list people get a 24 hour discount before we give others' notice! (that is hint #2)
Enjoy your holiday weekend. We will be working on my greenhouse. It is our forever project. Or the project that never ends. Maybe one day I will share with you my recycled project.
