Today my home is quiet. Trixie is in rehab and not here with me.
For the last year and a half, I have taken her to specialists with a diagnosis of 'we don't know'. The answer before this week was, 'Let's do therapy and if that does not work, we will do a total hip
replacement.'
Well, I did not return to that 'specialist'. I knew her options were not right.
Now this week was our third specialist. And finally, we have a diagnosis. Trixie has a sprained ligament in her hip. My dog lover friend, who is well acquainted with dog therapy and training, is caring for Trixie to create a quiet atmosphere.
Sometimes we need a change of venue to bring healing.
The same is true for you and
me.
I see this in the Inner Circle. This month we welcomed in many new people to the calls and into the family of the Inner Circle.
Trixie needed a fresh approach to healing. When she is with me, we both prefer fun, so staying quiet is not always
happening.
Now the new family members in the Inner Circle see the same thing. They need to be in a healthy environment and hear the truth of why they are stuck and rest in the promises of God for healing.
This past week was just that beautiful.
The typical
problem is people are stuck. And the beauty is that by coming to the Inner Circle they are ready and willing to be unstuck!
That is when change can happen. This is TRANSFORMATION in all caps!
Now let's have a little Inner Circle time between you and me right now. A little
rehab session of our own.
First - do you ever feel stuck?
How do you normally get past where you are and get unstuck?
I know, many times it is hard, and you stay stuck. You might even say - this is just me.
That is a lie. You were not created to be stuck.
It was for freedom that Christ set you free!
This freedom is for all areas of your life - even physical! Praise the Lord!
Here are the steps to get
unstuck:
1.Describe how you are stuck.
Is it ...
->Always eating when you are not hungry?
->Running to food when emotions surface?
->Refusing to eat real food when the store bought is easier?
There is a long list of ways to be stuck. This was just to get you thinking.
First, let's identify what is happening and the TRUTH of the matter.
Write out where or why you are stuck.
2. What is the emotion
behind being stuck?
Write it out.
3. What is the circumstance at the moment?
Write it out.
4. Who are you blaming for being stuck?
Yes, that happens. My spouse made me do this, my kids are driving me crazy therefore I...., We live on a low income therefore I must eat cheap foods....
The blame game never scores the winning touchdown.
Or I could say it this way -
Winers are never winners.
Circumstances may or may not be changed. They still do not control you being stuck.
Being stuck is optional!
You know that is true, but it is difficult to recognize the truth.
Once you identify the answers above, then ask yourself - where do
you want to see change?
Is it the emotional response - optional!
Is it circumstance - if you can change it for the better - do it! If you can't, then learn to adapt in your mindset.
The greatest change will always come when we change our thoughts.
That is the bottom line of all struggles. To get unstuck we must change our mindset.
