This is my second week of beginning a year with better spiritual and physical focus. 🙌
How are you doing on the courage I talked about last week? Are you noticing any fear that has lingered
too long? Now we get to take it captive and let God be Lord in that area.
Today, it is about who you are in Christ. What is your self-worth.
It seems many people in my life wanted to let me know my self-worth or
lack of. I remember one girl at my summer employment at the Lake of Ozarks was quick to tell me I was a fat slob. Now let me say, I was overweight (160 #) but not a fat slob. I could also add she was a preacher’s kid. Ok, I know that does not matter but I share because it can come from anywhere and anyone.
When I let other people determine my
self-worth, I am taking away from what God determines my value. 😲
When I am doubting my self worth, the only place I can go is God’s Word. I have compiled a list of 41 verses to help me and now you, to know for certain who you are.
Check out this page and read it out loud to yourself. When we read out loud, we not only see the words but we hear the words.
Moving on to our second week in physical focus for this new year. I see the question many times on how to start this Bible Diet journey? What do we eat? 🤔
First, let’s define foods to choose from.
I always use the three principles. These were first written by Dr Rex Russel. With his permission they are used extensively in my teachings. This is because they are
timeless.
Principle 1
Eat the foods God called Good - This is every food that will build health, build cellular rejuvenation, build mental wellness and nourish the gut microbiome.
Whole foods, raw or cooked, are the answer to what’s for dinner? See Genesis 1:29
Foods include meats, cheeses, eggs, fish - all clean foods from the very first Eat This - Don’t Eat That list.
Leviticus is very clear - eat these foods for you are set apart. Yes, that is my paraphrase.
To find these foods in the best source and grown/raised correctly, that is when prayer and wisdom steps in. I have prayed many times for someone who raises beef, or chickens, or eggs. God always shows me a farmer just when I need it.
God also shows me how I can barter or pay for the food. He knows my every need and he supplies all his goodness. ❤️
Yet, there are many times when just enjoying a plant-based diet is an excellent option.
Principle 2
Eat the foods as close to His design - before being altered beyond good for us.
This gets tricky. Or at least it did in the beginning.
There is a multi-billion dollar industry to get you and me to eat, to crave and to do it again. Very little money is made if we stop at satisfied.
Know what you are up against. Yes, those Oreos have a unique palette pleasing flavor. But they also have 16 different chemicals used in manufacturing that are not listed on the package.
I had one friend who worked for a food industry and told me the cookies were not turning out right. They sold them anyway under a generic
name. But then they discovered the anti-foaming agent they used with the vanilla extract (synthetic) was not working. So they had to choose another chemical to do the job.
Yep, I feel the same way. We have been duped.
Principle 3
Don’t let any food become your god.
This goes against the industry. Food addictions make profits.
See if you can go 3 months without a certain food. If not, you are addicted. I used to say 1 week, but that is too easy. Let’s really challenge ourselves this year. Can you give up your favorite food?
I have had many Christians
say, “Annette, we are saved by grace, we can eat what we want.” Yet, those are the same people calling me for help with their skin issues, hormonal imbalance, and more.
All food is not food. Addictions are real, and yet we have the power of Christ to overcome them.
After you understand the 3 Principles, here is some help with what to serve.
We have created a Physical Wellness page with many links to videos on what to eat.
