Good Morning
I have been planning to go live for 90 days on FB and YT, only to be challenged with so many travel plans. I started the videos many times. But excuses kept getting in my way.
Does that happen to you? Excuses.
Well, Wednesday this past week, I started sharing with you my journey for the next 40 days. I find it helpful in my health to be more focused for short periods of time, make sure all is well, and then move on in a new momentum.
And we all know being transparent on video makes it very real.
Here is a recap of my journey so far:
Start day - day of commitment. Wednesday. This is the day I made the commitment to be intentional for 40 days about my nutrition and health. It is important to make those decisions. We read in Daniel 1, Daniel made up his mind. We, too, need to decide. Choose you this day whom you will serve: manna or McDonalds (ok, I know that is not in scripture🙂 but you know what I
mean.).
If you were to choose one area in your life to be intentional for 40 days, what would that
be?
Marriage
Better engagement with your children
Finances
job/career
Bible study/prayer
Clean house - this never hits my list 🙂
Better listener
Food choices
Nutrition
Health
More play time
What would you choose? The list is unending. Choose one, if you want to join me.
That was Start Day.
Day 1 - I chose to do a mono-diet fast. I shared this on the live video on YouTube and Facebook. I chose an apple day. It was fun to watch on the chat screen what other people choose: watermelon, lamb, peanuts, apples, melons, and more delicious foods.
The point is to eat only 1 food for 24, 48 or 72 hours. It is cleansing to the body and resets the taste palate, microbiome, and metabolism.
What would you choose for a 24 hour mono-diet? Can you make it 48 hours?
Day 2 - yesterday. This day came with pain. Well, only a little. I chose to get my lab work done. I have shared before how important it is to monitor your lab work. This does not require any physician. You can order your own lab work and I also tell you what to be watching
for.
I am in the final stages of creating the Conquering Cancer course (you can pre-order now before the price goes up) right now and this has brought to my mind how important our lab work is. We need to have it done at least once per year and then we need to make sure we adjust our diet and supplements to bring about any corrections necessary.
As I shared in the Treasures of Healthy Living Bible Study DVD series, in 2010 I had lung surgery and they used a known carcinogen
in the lining of the lungs to keep it inflated. I won’t go into the arguments I had with the doctor about this option. But, since I knew this and had no other option I now monitor my lab work and specifically the cancer scores to make sure the CA levels stay at a low level.
There have been times when I got lazy with my eating and supplements and sure enough, the CA levels started creeping up. That’s not good.
So, I cannot express how important it is to monitor your own blood work.
Read more about it here, and download the form to keep in your notebook to have available anytime you are at the doctor and want him/her to order what you
desire.
Please don’t call/text me from the doctor’s office and ask me to text you the form. Really, this happens more
times than I can count. I am not that quick in responding, so instead I tell you ahead of time to have it ready. Or order your own lab work and skip the doctor.
Day 3 - PLANNING, yes, when we plan, we have a 75% more likelihood of succeeding. That is one of the purposes of the Hunger Satisfied Journal. Planning out your intentional decision.
Nutrition/health - plan your food
Marriage - plan ways to show love
Job/career - plan time for prayer whether
God wants you to stay in this job. Or other prayers.
You get the idea?
I hope you stay tuned to the YouTube channel and our private
Facebook group for these daily live chats. Let’s do this for 40 days together.
