Thanksgiving at our house was noisy, fun and filled with great food. I hope your time together was enjoyable.
Now moving on to the next celebration. It may surprise some of you, but the next celebration is not Christmas. It is the Feast of Dedication or also known as
the Feast of Lights. Perhaps you know it as Hanukkah.
Each of these biblical feasts was celebrated by Jesus in the New Testament. At each feast, He made declarations of who He is and why He came.
That is reason enough for us to
celebrate. Imagine if we celebrated each of these and our children and grandchildren learned how God saved His people from the enemy. How He provides and also how much He loves those who live for Him.
When our kids grow up and they can lean on these biblical truths, they are less anxious, less prone to wander, and less in fret.
These are times when the opportunity to Celebrate Jesus in the Feast of Lights is a blessed event. It is not about doing everything the Jewish tradition does. Although they have a lot of fun activities, and food. It is about sharing how God answered the prayers of His people. And He still does.
