While it is humorous to watch my dog, Trixie, change gears instantly when we say squirrel, it’s not as funny when similar “shiny objects” or “shame” cause fast reactions in our thoughts and bodies.
“Finally, brethren,
whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things..” Philippians 4:8
Sadly, endless obstacles come against you in your pursuit of God’s abundant and healthy lifestyle. These
diversions try to destroy the life God laid out for you every moment of every day. Advertisements from vastly funded industries constantly draw us away from God’s “Narrow Gate” (Matthew 7:1-14). Take a look at these statistics.
- Weight loss industry - 3.9 billion annually
- Supplement industry - 159 billion annually
- Fashion industry - 1.7 trillion annually
- Restaurant and fast
food industry - 1.1 trillion annually
- Food and grocery retail - 1.87 trillion annually
How many of their ideas do you think are helping you walk with God?
The messages
these institutions bombard us with make us feel lack, guilty, vain, and subsequently indulgent. They manipulate your emotions to keep you hungry for “better” and “more.”
The Bible even has a name for it. “Lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.” 1 John 2:15-17.
The lust and pride around us create an underlying feeling of hopelessness and loss, always reminding us of what is missing or what could be had.
Sadly, these thoughts and reactions foster a poor self-image, leading to self-rejection —
instead of loving yourself as a vessel of God’s love.
Henri Nouwen writes, “Self-rejection is the greatest enemy of the spiritual life because it contradicts the sacred voice that calls us the Beloved. Being the Beloved constitutes the core truth of our existence.”
While many do a fairly good job of encouraging you in your thought life, feelings and emotions (gut) are rarely discussed.
Here’s what I hope:
With summer approaching with shorts and tee shirts, I hope you commit a couple of hours each week over the next thirty days to watching videos from two programs listed below.
The truths in these videos will empower you to turn away from self-rejecting and shame-induced thoughts and
feelings regarding food and see yourself as a Beloved of God, worshiping and giving glory to God no matter what you’re doing.
These will help to align your health journey with your biblical beliefs.
Program #1
Worthwhile transformations trace back to the initial stages of the journey. Individuals who embrace incremental steps and experience early victories are significantly more likely to attain their desired outcomes.
Therefore, starting this April, I am leveling up our onboarding process for new Inner Circle members. While new members will continue to enjoy access to all Inner Circle resources, such as our prayer, nutrition, meal prep, biblical mindset, cancer prevention coaches, and even our entire course library, menus, recipes, and shopping lists, there’s a new addition.
Each week:
New members can participate in an exclusive “new-members only” call with me. These “Accelerator Program” sessions will explore specific, manageable steps that align with a transformational journey to shift your perspectives on food and fashion from the worldly approach to a
more godly one.
What graces will you pick up for yourself 30, 60, or 90 days from now, with only a couple of hours spent each week on removing endless lies from the industries above and replacing them with truths?
“Your adornment must not be merely external—braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.” 1 Peter 3:3-4

Program #2
Because of this bombardment, food and fashion become the anchor, even when it is not designed to be.
Food is fuel, and fashion is fun! But neither can ever replace God in our hearts.
The Biblical way (the celebratory Feasts of our Lord all point to this) is to — Celebrate in the Lord with food, not celebrate the food.
Last year, I took a handful of students through a program called — Weight Release Celebration.
In it, we connected weight loss under the umbrella of scripture and worked on habits to align the misconceptions thrown at us under God’s word.
The results were astounding.
If you’re ready to fight back for your health and, more importantly, your thoughts and feelings about your health.
Pursuing the Weight Release Celebration content in The Inner Circle and joining me for the accelerator program for a couple of hours per week over the next
month could change everything for you.
