So I gave up my favorite sport except for short rides. I felt guilty for taking time to ride and not play with her. You might ask, how does a 20 pound ball of fur make me feel guilty? If you met her, you would understand.
That lead to me biking less and less.
So, now I have paid the price. I signed up for the Century ride here in Richmond, Virginia. I have done this before and also did a
century ride in Florida 2 years ago.
To make sure I did not back out, I paid the fee to join.
Each week I have set up my training plans and if I miss a week, it will show on ride day.
What about you? Have you made a decision to eat healthy? Are you following through with that decision?
On our recent Inner Circle call, there were numerous new people. I encouraged them to:
- Decide on what goal they want to see in their life. What area is first
that they are ready to see changes?
Now I encourage you - to do the same. What is one area you are ready to see change? Make it a small change. We are not building a house; we are drawing the plans.
Write it down. - Determine what it will look like when completed.
What will your life look like when this is accomplished?
Write it down. - Date it - when will they start, when will they measure their success, and what date are they working on to see this completed?
Same
for you. Write when you will start. How often will you measure the success? - Do It. You have planned it, committed to it, and picked a starting date.
So - do it. Don't put it off. - Don't quit. You have been wanting this to happen for years, so why would you quit?
The enemy wants to steal your joy, your success. Why hand it over to him willingly?
If you make a mistake - it is a chance to learn why and how to not do it again.
We are not about
perfectionism. That creates crevices to fall into easily.
Don't say: "Well, I took one bite of the wrong food, so I might as well give up." NEVER
Instead say, "Ok, I ate that bite but, Satan, you won't get me next time., I am building up my strength to learn from that mistake."
Here is the reason to never quit:
You are loved.
You were created for a purpose.
You are here right now for this season.
God desires to grant you the desires of
your heart. The Holy Spirit will direct your desires. Never underestimate the power of the Spirit.
AND never underestimate the power of God's love.
John 3:16, in this verse, is the word love, God so loved the world. This love is chav and it is a love that is not necessarily returned. God did it anyway.
Chav speaks of a love that flows from just one person and is not always completed. For love to be completed, it must be returned.
John
21:20 "seeing the disciple whom Jesus loved"
This love is racham, Racham is a completed love. Love can exist if it is not returned, but it cannot 'sing' in your heart until it is shared.
Do you desire love more than your addictions? Every addiction is a desire for love.
Do you crave for someone to love you - just as you are?
Then know this: the Father loves you and sent His son for you. He paid the price even without expecting you to understand
the true value of the gift. the gift of love.
Now, let me step down from preaching and back to your goals. We were made to crave, and that can show up in many ways that are not God-honoring.
What if you made a goal to see God's love in everything around you?
What if you made a goal to reclaim your health physically and spiritually?
That is a way to return the love God is offering you. Replace the short term loves in your life for the long-term love of the
Father. Now, if that does not inspire you to never give up - then I don't know what will.
Our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. Let's cherish the love God has offered and care for this temple to serve Him well every day.
Be inspired to go through the steps above and never quit.
