Hi ,
How was your week? Mine was busy, yet I am more myself as I went on a (much needed) meditation retreat last
weekend.
There ended up being so much in the article that I spread it over 3 weeks! And, a
few of you have asked for time to ponder and reflect on it 🥰.
So, although we're taking a break this week from adding more content to our already full brains, see below for two quick ideas from my retreat.
1) I remembered the very first bit of advice from my first life coach back in 2003: Boredom is the gateway to inner peace!
It's so true. We're all so busy all the time. Boredom seems like a bad thing, yet it could also be considered a luxury that few of us
have these days...
2) Here are 3 blocks that get in the way of personal growth and happiness/contentment:
- Ignorance. Not knowing what we need to change—or how
we might change. This is why self-awareness and self-connection are so important: we must get to know our deepest selves!
- Forgetting. We know what we need to do, but we forget (repeatedly).
- Distraction. We allow ourselves to get
distracted from our goals. This is such an issue these days with apps, games, television, social media, and phones—with the answer to everything at our fingertips.
So, which of the 3 blocks do you most need to work on?
Mine is 'Forgetting'. And the big one for me is that somehow I keep forgetting that I want/need an early night and stay up reading 📖. I need a new strategy—or perhaps a 'boring' book, then I could maybe achieve inner peace too! 😂
