Hi ,
This week I'm sharing a thoughtful quote from Amelia Earhart. Because one of the biggest issues I see with people trying to make life changes or take a difficult action is that they're not 'all in'.
When we truly DECIDE to do something, "I am 100% going to do this thing!" we always find a way to make it happen. The rest, as Amelia says, is "merely" tenacity!
Imagine, you've decided to move to a new city (or the countryside!). Maybe you always dreamed of living there. And then, your new job or housing falls through. Someone who is not 'all in' might say, "This is too hard!" or "It's a sign I'm not meant to go." and pull back.
Because when we haven't fully committed, it's all too easy to change our mind when the going gets tough. And it will get tough.
Anytime we set big (or challenging) goals and actions for ourselves - there will be difficulties along the way. Things you hadn't thought of, hurdles and let downs to get over - and it'll almost certainly take longer than you expect.
Making the decision activates your determination and persistence - and this is what sees you through.
I also think that this is why so many people procrastinate and avoid deciding in the first place - because then they'd need to do something. But that's a whole other topic...
