We have lots of exciting projects going on in Santa Maria and wanted to share updates with you.

SANA Healthcare Clinic

We are providing general medical and dental care to over 500 patients a month. We've added dental surgery once every other month with a volunteer dental surgeon.

Our ob-gyn physician has increased the number of moms-to-be in our pregnancy program.

SANA Preschool

Preschool classes for 120 four- and five-year-old children began on February 13.

The children are enjoying school.

Many of them LOVE the bathrooms and automatic soap dispensers! That may seem odd, but remember, most of them live in homes without running water or bathrooms.

We are in the process of enclosing the rooftop on the annex building so we can place a playground area up there for the children.

SANA Library

Our library was reopened in the annex where we offer, in addition to books and an audiobook library, tutoring and a computer lab.

We have over 100 students a week coming in for tutoring help or to do their homework.  Additionally, we have begun age-appropriate book clubs which also are well attended.

SANA Scholarship Program

As explained before, many children cannot go beyond 6th grade because their parents cannot afford the tuition ($400 a year).  Thanks to the on-going support of many of our donors, we have 26 children attending 7th grade this year and 6 children attending 8th grade.

A private benefactor covers ALL overhead and construction costs.  So YOUR donation provides the clinic operating expenses, the preschool education costs, and the scholarships.
