![]() This flower-filled table is a photo we took at the Philadelphia Flower Show. There's no spare room for the food, but then this wasn't a food show, after all! A requirement of the Philadelphia Flower Show organizers is that all flowers and plants be real! "Known by God"
Message summary: "The Lord knows those who are His". A wonderful source of assurance is God’s knowledge of each one of us, a truth taught abundantly throughout Scripture.
“The Lord knows those who are His” (2 Timothy 2:19).
A part of managing an email list like Daily Encouragement is examining an undeliverable report. This is a report of email addresses to the daily list that bounced back or were otherwise undeliverable.* I noticed a bounced email from a subscriber’s email address that struck me in a very special way. It was the address of a friend who had passed away several weeks earlier. The error message that came with the bounce said, "User Unknown". Apparently after this person's death a family member had cancelled the email address and thus I received the "User Unknown" message.
Well, this user may be unknown to the ISP’s server, but he is most certainly known to God. The daily Scripture portion is a great comfort, especially in trying times. You can easily memorize it and hide it deeply in your heart, "The Lord knows those who are His". A wonderful source of assurance is God’s knowledge of each one of us, a truth taught abundantly throughout Scripture. The Word of God to Jeremiah the prophet is surely true for each one of us, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you” (Jeremiah 1:5). God’s knowledge is so extensive it includes our pre-birth state! The Psalmist wrote, “You know when I sit and when I rise; You perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; You are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue You know it completely, O LORD” (Psalm 139:2-4). Surely we proclaim with the Psalmist, “Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain” (Psalm 139:6). Indeed, “the Lord knows those who are His". Today I want to encourage each reader to find a wonderful assurance in this Scripture portion. Have you committed your life to Jesus Christ and received God’s only provision for your sin problem? If so you belong to Jesus and as you face the inevitable challenges of life today remember this truth, “The Lord knows those who are His!” He knows my name
He knows my every thought He sees each tear that falls And He hears me when I call Be encouraged today, (Hebrews 3:13)

Of course an individual address that is unknown due to changing ISP’s, leaving a company or even death also shows up. In order to keep the list clean these addresses are removed.

As we prayed together prior to recording our message today we again prayed for Ukraine and the worsening situation over there. It's hard to believe such utter barbarism happening in 2022. We are asking God to confound the Russian commanders and army as He did in some of the OT battles. We are praying that he would remove evil Putin from the scene and restore sanity to that country's leadership.
This song came to mind and I especially consider the words, that I need to "Remember that You’re God and I am not".
I know You’re good But this don’t feel good right now And I know You think Of things I could never think about It’s hard to count it all joy Distracted by the noise Just trying to make sense Of all Your promises Sometimes I gotta stop Remember that You’re God |
