Preview

Big game so early on in the season, this will be an early indicator of where Roma are after a poorer campaign last season, while you have Juventus wanting to build on an easy victory last week.

Roma are looking to kick on this season after a few seasons lingering on the edge of the champions spots and will be looking to finally kick on as a team after a summer of transition which might be what is needed for a team that are stagnating while other kick on and continue to improve the squad.

Juventus on the other hand come off another successful campaign and will be looking to put their best foot forward after an impressive opening which apart from small moments they bossed the opposition and should have won by plenty more. Pirlo showed a great attacking content and the neutral will be hoping this continues going forward as they are a joy to watch when on the front foot.

*Squad Overhaul*
Roma have had a huge turnaround of players this summer leaving them open to a period of transition. They have lost big figures that would easily still slot right into the starting 11. Firstly you have the biggest defensive stand out of the whole league and that was Chris Smalling who ushered in a air of protection that they have struggled to have for years now. Then you have the hugely influencial winger of Under leaving which leaves a very large gap in the attacking line up that they hope they have been able to fill. On the other hand they have added real numbers to the squad aswell with Pedro coming in as a direct replacement who has shown on the big stages for years and will do the same once again. Along with the added fight and grit of Vertout who will be a big addition in the middle of the park.

*Troubles Away from Home*
Juventus last season had big struggles away fron home, struggling to break teams down and often getting caught on the break leading to some very poor results which ultimately was the nail in the coffin for the previous manager. Failing to win 9 games away from home is very much away from the norm of the years gone by who failed to win 10 or less games in the 3 years prior to that. They have added some good quality this summer which should allow them to dictate more away from home and break teams down with less ease.

*Ruthless Juventus*
For a team who struggled in front of goal last week when the opportunites arose, it is crazy to think a 3-0 loss for Sampdoria flattered them whrn it could have been plenty more. With 17 shots altogether it was clear there was large spells of poor finishing which against better teams might end up costing them valuable points. They showed slight defensive problems with Sampdoria getting good chances but failing to put them on target. Ronaldo was a real problem for the opposition and he will be a huge part in the season ahead.

A very good game should be on store here, Roma are very much a team who strive at home but could this change without the back up of the loyal Roma fans? Juventus are a team who struggled away from home last season so it will be good to see how they fair this season round.
