Airport Improvement Program - September 11, 2023

The Federal Aviation Administration awarded seven airports throughout Maryland $33,857,547 in funding for infrastructure projects that will help strengthen our nation's aviation infrastructure. The projects will reconstruct; rehabilitate or extend runways and install lighting. 

Grid Resilience State and Tribal Formula Grants Program - September 7, 2023

The US Department of Energy awarded $8,790,108 in federal funding for the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) to modernize the state's power grid and invest in clean energy. MEA will hold a competitive selection process to identify projects for which the federal funding will be deployed.

The Key Notices of Funding Opportunities, published by USDOT, has published anticipated dates for upcoming Notices of Funding Opportunities (NOFOs). The Consolidated Rail Infrastructure & Safety Improvements (CRISI) Grant Program is coming soon, with an anticipated Fall 2023 opening. 

The White House has released a government-wide overview of programs that support technical guidance/capacity building activities around planning, applying for funding, financial planning, project delivery and compliance. 

Grants.gov Community Blog has a training and event calendar, a mobile app and blog posts for visitors to learn more. You can sign up to receive notifications of new posts by email. One popular blog discusses how to determine eligibility for federal funding opportunities, which can be found here.

USDOT has launched the Project Delivery Center of Excellence, based at the USDOT Volpe Center, to help recipients of federal infrastructure funds deliver projects more efficiently and effectively, from concept to completion. The Center will serve as a central resource for innovative practices and will bring project managers together to enable knowledge sharing and peer-to-peer learning.
