Hello Love,
It’s been a minute since I’ve been in your inbox, though you’ve been on my mind for some time.
I had the pleasure of having a “peak experience” last fall that nourished me in so many ways, though the aftermath left me flattened and depressed for weeks.
I had the privilege of spending a week feeling the highest highs of love,
connection, purpose, creativity and joy... to returning to my daily life in which I was confronted with the complacency I had developed around my desires.
Maybe you’ve experienced this kind of quiet acceptance for things you think you can’t change. Maybe you’re ignoring some great longing right this very minute, talking yourself into believing that things are actually just fine without the thing you
want.
I know many of my clients try to talk themselves out of their desire for true partnership. Maybe you’ve done this too, or are doing it now?
The truth is, this denial of our dreams and desires is actually more painful than the steps it takes to create change.
I’ll be the first to admit that taking steps towards change can be challenging. If our heart isn’t in it, if we’re forcing ourselves, or moving forward out of inner punishment or obligation ("I SHOULD" energy), we’re simply spinning our wheels and not going anywhere.
For me, part of my discontent was related to the saturation of the Dating & Relationship market, and feelings of having strayed too far from my
professional roots of movement and joyful wellness.
Rather than ignoring it, which I had been doing for a while, or pushing forward trying to solve the issue, I allowed it to feel unsettled. I welcomed the messiness of it. The uncertainty and subsequent feelings of not knowing what to do next. And I’ll be honest, that was hard and uncomfortable!
But better than the previous two options!
The truth is, when we finally admit we are complacent, and we don’t try to force change, we allow space for the still, small voice within to guide us forward. The voice of our heart is not loud, it’s not judgy or punitive. It’s inviting, curious, and patient.
And
sure enough, I finally caught a whisper from my heart and followed it. I identified that a passion of mine had been bubbling up quietly for the last five years, and I was feeling called to study and offer it professionally.
This further opened up a new chapter in my service all together!
I am currently getting certified as a Personal Color
Analyst, where I will be “reading” client’s colors and identifying the signature colors that highlight their natural beauty.
