MORGAN'S POINT RESORT, Texas — A woman has been arrested after leading police on a pursuit through multiple Central Texas towns, according to the Morgan's Point Resort Police Department.

According to the department, Morgan's Point Police officers were called to the Sol De Jalisco #4 restaurant in Morgan's Point Resort around 2:37 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4 for an alleged fraud in progress.

Police said a woman had contacted the restaurant claiming to be a representative of a vendor the business uses, and claimed a delivery was made to the restaurant that the driver had forgotten to collect payment for.

The woman sent the restaurant a fraudulent invoice and later showed up in person to collect payment, according to police.

When the woman arrived, a staff member at the restaurant reportedly thought the circumstances were suspicious and contacted law enforcement.

A Morgan's Point Resort Police Officer "made contact" with the woman at the restaurant, according to the department. The woman allegedly "failed to obey commands from the officer to stop" and locked herself inside a vehicle before fleeing the scene, police said.

According to Morgan's Point Resort PD, they, alongside officers from the Temple Police Department, Bell County Constables Office - Precinct 3 and the Texas Department of Public Safety, pursued the vehicle through the cities of Morgan's Point Resort, Temple and Belton.

According to police, the chase ended in the parking lot of the Bell County Justice Center in Belton.

Morgan's Point Resort PD said the woman, identified as 33-year-old Cindy Gomez, was taken into custody and booked into the Bell County Jail for Evading Arrest or Detention, Evading with a Vehicle, Criminal Attempt and an outstanding felony arrest warrant issued by the Bell County Sheriff's Department.
