Texas city eyeing microtransit P3

The City of Abilene, Texas, is looking for consultants to help develop a fixed-route transit system project.

Under the plans, the city is planning to upgrade its current system to a “more flexible and efficient microtransit system”, adding that it is interested in considering “innovative transit solutions”.

The consultants will analyze the feasibility of project options, including financing plans, with the authority specifically mentioning P3s as an option.
