GRAPEVINE, Texas — Grapevine police worked a crash involving multiple cars on southbound SH 121 on Monday morning.

TxDOT Fort Worth said the southbound SH 121 ramp to westbound SH 114 was closed due to the crash. It has since reopened.

According to police, the crash involved eight vehicles including a fire truck. Officials said the firetruck was helping with a separate crash when it was struck by multiple vehicles.

One person was taken to a hospital with injuries, police say. Their condition is unknown as of Monday afternoon.

Grapevine police are reminding drivers to avoid elevated roads, bridges and overpasses with ice.

"No matter what road you are on, slow down and use extreme caution," the department posted on Facebook.

Travel in North Texas is slippery on side roads and residential roads. But main roads are mostly dry and snow-free since the snow has been cleared off.  However, they do have slick spots on bridges and overpasses. Officials say to use caution if you have to be out and about.
