I’m Grant Symons. I convene Transition Edge
to help us understand how we can transition to a low carbon sustainable world using leading thinking and practices.
Many of us will be aware of the work of Nate Hagens and the website by the name of 'The Great Simplification' he launched in December 2021. For those who aren't, this week we provide some insight into what Nate has been up to, and the implications of this crucial body of work.
The goal of the Great Simplification is to inform more of us about the path ahead for civilisation and inspire us to play a role in our collective
future.
Since its launch he has published 57 podcasts, four animated videos and is up to part 27 of a weekly video broadcast called
'Frankly'. He is a prolific content generator and explores the vital dimensions of the great simplification, with a commanding intellect.
Nate is well qualified to interview the diverse group of scientists, leaders, activists, thinkers, and doers that he does. He holds a master's in finance from the University of Chicago and a Ph.D. in Natural Resources from the University of Vermont.
His podcast interviews are typically over an hour and traverse critical and in-depth perspectives of history, present day and a future where humanity is challenged to rethink and reconfigure how it exists.
The animations are engaging and convey the issues facing civilisation simply. The short 30-minute movie is well worth watching if you are
interested in an introduction to this body of work. Link below
