You know that here at Transition-HQ we are committed to a real transition to a long term sustainable future.
Over the past 36 months of intense focus on the Transition, we have commissioned our own research, published a myriad of thought leadership pieces, made presentations, been on panels, conducted workshops, carried out pilot studies, supervised specialised courses and...are now excited to bring you our very own leadership programme - REAL TRANSITION. (Read more here )
Why this course and why now? ... the world desperately needs leaders from all disciplines, sectors and demographics that are committed and acting towards a real and long-term sustainable future, while having a consistent mind-set and tool-set.
Our vision is to create a network of leaders that have access to a set of principles, practices and tools for the Transition and a growing community to develop with.
We all know that business as usual is not and will not deliver the positive change that is possible. Time is short and action is needed. We also know that the kind of transition that will leave a wonderful long-term legacy for future generations will require new thinking, new mindsets, skills, practices, passion and community.
New leadership is required for a real transition. Is this you?
Each and every community, rohe, region, catchment, business, sector, organisation, Iwi, whānau, and individual - all need to be able to create and manage their own transition in an optimal way and help others along the
same path.
As part of a group of 10 - 12 colleagues and kindred spirits you'll gain access to a deep knowledge base, collectively learn what this means for transition in your own context and then work together to evolve your own theory of transition and opportunities to make a difference. Together we will become a growing and developing community with clarity
of purpose and the tools for the job.
You'll already be familiar with the significant challenges of climate change and rapid reductions in carbon emissions and are probably in a management, leadership, directorship or influencer role right now.
Over six-weeks you'll be supported with content, group interaction and learning and have the opportunity to be engaged in the Transition Edge community on an ongoing basis. Sessions will be virtual (via Zoom) for 90 minutes each week, with a face to face workshop option available if required.
You will learn:
- Key definitions, models and approaches
- Perspectives on growth
- The big picture on energy transition
- How to frame transition challenges for innovation
- Making sense of your Transition interest and developing a theory
- How to increase influence and progress
The programme will be led by Grant Symons and Fiona van Petegem and will feature specialists and content from the THQ network. You will be well aware of the major issues and as such the volume of course material and reading will be kept to a minimum. It is intended that sessions will typically be 20-30% 'content provided' and the rest of the time will be interactive, serendipitous and self monitored.
The first programme will begin in mid-August, then monthly thereafter. The first four alumni groups for 2021 will contribute to the development of the ongoing programme and community. Each group will include two 'no fee' places for students.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of an emerging and ongoing movement dedicated to a Real Transition. Join us and explore the opportunity to make a sustainable long term impact.
