15 April 2022 | From the friendly caves of Pixie Hollow.
I learned recently that rocks have tides like the ocean.
The difference is that, where the ocean will expand up to 16 metres, rocks expand up to 16 mm.
So small you can't see it.
But this means that they're breathing.
Rocks are critters, too: Just really, really slow moving. And now they breathe!
How is this relevant to your business's communications?
It's relevant in the sense that even when you think something isn't working, it might just be moving slowly.
So slowly that you've hardly noticed.
So slowly that the payoff is measured in terms of years instead of months, weeks, days, or hours.
So slowly that when you notice the return on investment, your shirt buttons will fly off in surprise.
Playing the long-game is sometimes necessary.
And sometimes that means getting as "still" as a rock.
Except, now that you know that they're not still at all.
