The poor cousin of interaction works hard

Published: Mon, 10/25/21

From the friendly caves of Pixie Hollow.

There are two people present in any interaction, and they’re cousins.

The first is tall, blonde, tanned, and muscular. They attract attention easily, because their nature is to be an extrovert.

The second is smaller, weak-looking, but persistent. They’re easily overlooked, especially when their cousin is standing next to them. Their strength is hidden, subtle, you have to sit with them in conversation.

These two people are questions (blondie) and comments (subtlety).

When creating content, Questions is the fastest, simplest source to go to.

Businesses create all kinds of systems to attract Questions’ attention. They use everything from notes to website bots. They spend time with Questions, they seek to understand the story attached.

Not so with Comments.

Comments pops up at random, usually within another interaction. They’re easy to miss, rarely noted, rarely understood. Nobody wants Comments’s backstory.

Yet it’s Comments who holds the greatest power when it comes to content creation, adaptation, and adjustment.

It’s Comments who shines a light on new ways of looking at your world.

It’s Comments who has the capacity to make you more money.

But because our dear friend is so plain, so common, and doesn’t have the sexy body and shiny locks of their cousin Questions, they’re disregarded more often than they are engaged.

The subtlety of Comments requires a different approach to knowledge capture. Yet it’s Comments who will show you what formats to use when redeploying your assets.

Questions is far more demanding. They require attention Now.

But Comments is here for the long-haul.

Which one have YOU made friends with?

Want some help in this space? I’m currently offering a “comments analysis” to you for $550. It’s only available to you, and only until Monday next week.

So if you HAVE listened to our friend Comments, and you have captured them, now is a good time to start thinking about content deployment in 2022. This analysis will give you a fantastic runway.

Let me know if you want it.
