Featuring: Anna Wang – Anna Wang is a proud mother of 3 precious children. She received her Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC Berkeley and her Master degree from Loyola Marymount University.
Twenty-seven years ago, her son, Lawrence, was diagnosed with autism. In order to help Lawrence, she went back to college to study behavioral psychology and language development. In 1996, she became
the co-founder and Vice President of Friends of Children with Special Needs (FCSN). Anna is well-known for designing innovative programs, building parents and community networks to support and advocate for the special need community. She strives to protect the rights and benefit of the special needs and create programs and opportunities to develop their abilities and talents. Anna spearheads the Dream Work and Housing Projects which empower individuals with special needs to lead a happy and
healthy life as contributing citizens of society.
In recent years, Anna has received numerous awards and recognition, including “Profiles of Excellence” – ABC / KGO TV, “Hometown Hero, ” – NBC Bay Area TV and News Group, “API Outstanding Leader Award”, “Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Award for Excellence in Public Services” and Inspirational Woman Award from the California State Assembly, Asian Pacific American Democratic Caucus Lifetime Community Service Achievement Award.
