Time For Fried Green Tomatoes
Fried Green Tomatoes
Have You Tried Fried Green Tomatoes?
It's getting to be that time of year when the tomatoes don't have time to ripen before cold weather sets in. Don't despair. Make yourself some Fried Green Tomatoes, just like at the Whistle Stop Cafe.
I'm in the middle of proofing the layout for my new cookbook, and it includes the recipe for Fried Green Tomatoes. The tomatoes have a crispy outside
with a tangy, still somewhat crisp inside. They are SO good, especially with Homemade Russian Dressing. I do hope you try it and comment on the recipe post.
P.S. If you haven't read Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe (affiliate link), I highly encourage you to read it.

Do You Need Help Discovering Your Food Allergy Issues?
Recipe Reprise: Pizza Burgers
Pizza Burger made with a Portobello Mushroom
Mom's Recipe Updated
My mom always had Pizza Burger mix in the freezer. We could scoop out enough of the meat-and-cheese mixture to top a couple of hamburger buns or English muffins, spread it out on the buns and bake it for a few minutes for lunch or supper. I like it better on top of a portobello mushroom, and if I eat it now, I have to use "dairy free"
cheese (affiliate link to my favorite kind).
Kids usually love this meal. And the recipe makes a ton. So I can see why Mom kept it in the freezer.
However, if you are sensitive to dairy or gluten (the way I am), you'll want to pass this recipe by.
