Do You Think You Have to Use Okra in Gumbo?
You can, if you want, and it helps thicken the soup, but I'm not a big fan of okra, so my recipe doesn't include it. You can make gumbo as hot as you want with hot peppers and spicy sausage. I choose to make mine flavorful instead of spicy.
I love the combination of vegetables in this thick soup that is traditionally served with rice. Some people add seafood to their gumbo. It's super good any way you make it.
Although this recipe is easy, it does take some time to make it—all told, about 2 hours. I guess I'd better get started cooking...

I know you are sitting on pins and needles waiting for my memoir cookbook, It Ain't Just The Diet COOKBOOK: How I Beat Allergies One Bite At At Time. Ha. Ha. Me too. It's now with the designer to finish the design.
However, at my readers' suggestion, I uploaded my new, larger size It Ain't Just The Diet FOOD JOURNAL: A Daily Guide To Finding & Managing Your Food Allergies, and I'm awaiting the link from Amazon.

- How many food log pages would YOU like in the electronic version that you can fill in right on your computer, iPad or phone?

Homemade Sausage Recipe
Yesterday Was National Sausage Pizza Day
Sausage pizza is my favorite pizza. Most of our family prefers pepperoni, and I like that, too, but Italian sausage is my fav. These days, I have to make a gluten-free crust for my pizza. I use my Gluten Free Dairy Free White Bread dough for it. It's SO much better than the cardboard crusts you get in restaurants.
To use the GF DF White Bread as the crust, you whip it up—you do literally whip it—and then spread it on your pizza pan. Let it rise. Bake until done, about 18-20 minutes. THEN you add your toppings and bake again, about 18 minutes.
For regular wheat pizza dough, you don't have to pre-bake it.
Do you make from-scratch pizza? You won't believe how good it is.
