Hola from Costa Rica !
This road sign is helpful when driving in Costa Rica. It warns you of an upcoming speed bump that more than likely doesn't have any marking on it.
Don says he wants it printed on a t-shirt. It's a good symbol for slowing down and learning to take life a little easier.
Our first week at the beach was delightful. I was able to get my favorite fish, pargo (red snapper), and it was amazing. It's mighty hot here so we are taking it easy in the middle of the day. Thank goodness for air conditioning!
Going grocery shopping is interesting here. Eggs are not refrigerated. Fresh fruits and vegetables are abundant, and food is inexpensive. We bought two bags of groceries that included bananas, tomatoes, a cucumber, an onion, lettuce, kale, cilantro, paper towels, eggs, two liters of water, three cans of tonic and a quart-sized bottle of rum for $26.
Gas, on the other hand, is expensive. We spent $51 to fill up the tank of our small car, so maybe $5/gallon.
BRAND NEW Recipe
I hope you are loving "Mama Tica" Jeanette's recipes. This week I'm giving your another one. Plátanos Maduros (sweet fried plantains). You won't believe how easy these gems are.
I also reposted my Gluten Free Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies. They are like energy bars, with oatmeal, nuts and chocolate chips. I made some a couple days ago.
So amazing!
