Immediately after the loss of young Keishla Rodríguez and Andrea Ruiz caused widespread indignation in Puerto Rico in 2021, Fundación Banco Popular implemented a community response strategy through a $500,000 social investment in partnership with expert nonprofit organizations that included the National Gender Violence Shelters
Network, Taller Salud, Fundación de Mujeres en Puerto Rico, Dominican Women’s Center and the Gender Equity Observatory of Puerto Rico.
Liberty Foundation celebrated Earth Month by carrying out various activities to contribute to the conservation of the natural resources of Puerto Rico
and the US Virgin Islands.

Fundación Colibrí, Environmental Defense Fund, and Genesis Solar broke ground on the initial phase of a community-based solar and storage pilot project that “will deliver clean, affordable, and reliable electricity” to some 40 households on the island municipality of Culebra.

Puerto Ricans aged 16 to 26 are eligible to submit ideas for how to tackle society’s most pressing issues — whether it’s addressing climate change, advocating for social justice, building a more equitable and inclusive society or solving for other critical issues in their communities.
