On the other hand, our monthly Action Dialogue session revolved and we continued the conversation on how we define advancing equity
within our organizations. We did this by presenting the collected survey data on the topic “Sharing Power and Increasing
Impact” where we dived into the adoption of transformational practices:
-Beyond funding we advocate for causes and
issues important to PR
-We bring a diversity of voices into grantmaking decisions by external review committees or engaging in participatory grantmaking
practices.
This diversity reveals the importance of flexibility and adaptation in making the participation of grant
applicants relevant.
In addition, we facilitated the fifth meeting of the Compromisos para una Recuperación
Justa, as part of the Robusteciendo la Justicia Social initiative. We facilitate this meeting between various non-profit organizations and public agencies, which follows up on pending commitments regarding recovery issues in Puerto Rico. Time has allowed them to have consistent communication, the exercise of active listening between organizations and government entities and we continue to promote the transparency we need in all public policy processes that take place around the
archipelago.
Without a doubt, we continue to focus on aligning and co-creating our spaces to explore and deepen practices that advance equity. We are very excited about what June will bring.
