Football, Australia and The Throat Chakra

Those of you who know us outside the studio, most likely know that I am more familiar with the American football scene than Tim is.  I learned a lot about it while living in Milwaukee, WI (yes, you can call me a cheese head).  :-)

You have also probably heard Tim say that I know more about the football teams than he does.  And yes, he does not like watching football at all.

Having read the above statements, you probably would not believe me if I told you that Tim did play football for years while in high school.

You would probably be wondering, how could it be? Why would he say that I know more about the football scene than he does?

It’s because in reality, I do.  Tim does not like to watch football and that’s why he knows nothing about the teams.  However, he does love playing football and did play football 3-4 times a week from age 12-17.

Listening to the precise words is a crucial part of communication.  A lot of times we don’t listen to what people actually say, we are interpreting what they say.

The "listening versus interpreting", reminds me of Quigley Down Under, a very favorite movie of ours.  When Matthew Quigley uses the Sam Colt pistol to shoot baron Elliott Marston, Elliot Marston is shocked that Matthew Quigley knew how to use the weapon.  Matthew Quigley reminds him — “Said I Never Had Much Use For One. Never Said I Didn't Know How To Use One."  Here is the YouTube clip: https://youtu.be/9zY2558He3c

Ask yourselves - how often do you really listen to what people are saying? If you would like some very practical tips on how to cultivate more listening and less speaking, listen (pun intended :-) ) to our podcast episode on the Throat Chakra and Your Mind In a Non FooFoo Way.

Before we say "until next time":

Until, next time much much love from both of us!! Na'maste Kala!
