Issue #1 - Feb 26, 2021
Welcome to the first issue of the Core Web Vitals Newsletter!
The goal of this newsletter is to help you understand the latest in the web performance, SEO, and user-experience through the lens of Core Web Vitals as we countdown to Google's May 2021 launch.
In this issue we're paying particular attention to Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS). CLS is probably the most misunderstood metric in the Web Vitals and it isn't even a performance measurement. Rather than measuring how fast the page is, CLS actually measures the visual stability of page elements. It's a newer metric and one that's not without controversy. So I've collected a few articles that should help make this metric more
intuitive as well as the latest updates on how it might change in the future.
