Here we are nearing the end of Spring. The temperature is heating up and the cats are shedding more. I brush them every morning but you would never know it from all the hair that accumulates. Speaking of grooming cats, I know that most cats enjoy it but my two Ginger boys do not. I tried different brushes but nothing convinced them. Red  hates it and Casey just tolerates it. I had to come up with a strategy so I shamefully decided to use the treat bribe. I take out the container of treats and the brush. I brush a little then give a treat and repeat. I thought the psychology was that they begin to associate the activity with the treat and decide that it's a pleasurable experience. Well, that didn't happen. At best, they will stay put and allow me to finish but they have their eyes on the treat container the whole time. 

Hey, whatever works. On the other hand, I am able to trim their nails and brush their teeth but it takes patience and fortitude. I trim Casey's nails while he is lying in the sink. No problem. I work on Red while he is lying on my lap. The weird thing is i can do his left paw without too much resistance but the right paw is a challenge. I have to wait until he is almost asleep to sneak  in one nail. As you can imagine it takes a long time. At least brushing their teeth is easy peasy. i use a child's toothbrush and poultry flavored toothpaste. Hard to describe the mechanics. It's easiest when they are in the sink but I have done it when they are sitting on a counter. 

I have shed my mask as I guess most of you have after getting the vaccines. Nice to feel the breeze and see people's lips move as they speak. I am playing more tennis as well. It will be nice to see the stands fill with fans once again. Roland Garros is beginning this week. Casey and I will be watching.
